COURSE DESCRIPTION/PURPOSE

  • The world today is characterised by rapid change and growing interdependence among nations in all areas of human endeavours. Hence, nations need professionals in foreign affairs who can serve in governments, international organisations, non-government organisations, and international business. In Southeast Asia, there is no specialised institution which caters to this specific need. The Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies (IDIS) is designed to fill this need. The program thats designed at RSU will provide professional education in international studies covering the entire spectrum of international relations. Hence, this will be an intensive training course that will focus on practical skills (e.g. negotiation techniques, diplomatic practices, media skills, rhetoric, and languages).

  • The practice of design has evolved considerably over the last two decades. It was predominantly a craft-based, cultural- product centric profession, focussed on creating beautiful products. Today, the global landscape of design, business and technology has changed considerably, in addition to creating desirable products, designers worldwide are increasingly being called upon to solve complex problems facing our society. With Thailand becoming part of the AEC, the challenges are even more complex.
