1.How can I apply for a VISA?
There are two different ways of obtaining a University student visa in Thailand.
- Applying for a visa in your home country. In order to do so, you’d need to be enrolled at least 3 months prior to the beginning of your studies
- Applying for a VISA in Thailand or converting the VISA in the neighboring country. The requirements will depend on your citizenship and University policy. For more information please contact [email protected]
2. What is a Dual Degree Program?
Dual Degree program is a special degree program where students can work towards two degrees with two entirely different focuses at the same time.
3. What is the difference between “Undergraduate” and “Graduate” degrees?
A graduate is one who has obtained a bachelor’s degree and is now pursuing a master’s degree. An undergraduate is one who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
4. Are there age limitations to attend University?
You can attend university once you turn 16 years.
5. Do I need to know English fluently?
According to CEFR scale the minimum requirement of English proficiency to get accepted to the Universities in Bangkok is B2.

7. What are the admission requirements?
High School Completion or Equivalent
The accepted qualifications include:
- High school / upper secondary school / grade 12 completion certificate, along with transcripts (please check the exact requirements for each country and education system).
- IGCSE / GCSE / GCE O-levels Certificate with no less than 5 subjects, graded A, B or C.
- IGCSE / GCSE / GCE A-levels Certificate with no less than 3 subjects, grades A, B, C, D or E.
- Test of General Educational Development (GED) with minimum 145 points in all 4 subjects, along with the high school equivalency diploma.
- IB certificate with minimum 5 subjects with a minimum score of 4
- IB Diploma with minimum 24 points
English Proficiency
IELTS or TOEFL is not required. Students may sit for the STIU English Placement Test before or after receiving an offer letter. In order to qualify for admission into a degree program directly, the following scores are required:
- IELTS – Overall Band of 6.0 with no Band below 5.5
- TOEFL – Minimum score of 78
8. When does the semester start?
In total, there are only 3 stages of entering universities in Bangkok. The first semester begins around the beginning of September-October. The second semester in January-February and summer full/additional courses begin in early June.
9. What are the arrival dates?

10. What is a credit system in education?
Credit is the recognition for having taken a course at a school or university, used as a measure if enough hours have been made for graduation.
11.When all the documents should be applied?
Depending on the University requirements students must submit all the documents from 6 to 2 months prior to the first day of the semester.
